How do you get inspired?

I always thought that inspiration was something that came to me when I was in the shower or lying in bed with my eyes closed. And while it’s true that inspiration can strike at any time, it’s also true that most of us spend our lives waiting for moments like this. We live in a culture where we are told that things happen by accident and success comes from luck. The truth is, though, that most of us have the ability to feel inspired on purpose—and we can do so every day by applying these five simple strategies:

Get up from your seat and move.

We’re all aware of the importance of getting up from our seats and moving around. In fact, research has shown that physical activity benefits our brains in many ways, including improving memory and decreasing anxiety.

But how does movement help us? How can it help you be more productive?

It all comes down to dopamine—the neurotransmitter responsible for feelings of pleasure and reward. When we move throughout the day, our brain releases dopamine as part of its natural reward system. This makes us feel good. Exercise can give an energy boost that lasts longer than eating a chocolate bar, drinking coffee, or even taking drugs.

Do something that will encourage you to take action.

The best way to get inspired is by doing something that will encourage you to take action. This can be anything from getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new, or doing something scary or uncomfortable but making sure it’s for a good cause.

It’s important to remember that this isn’t about the end result—it’s about the journey, not just the end!

Change your perspective to one of abundance.

  • Look at the world around you. Look at the good things that happen to you. Look at what you have done, and be grateful for it.
  • Look at the people in your life who have been there for you when times were tough or when they weren’t so great—the ones who helped push through obstacles, reminded themselves not to give up, reassured their loved ones during hard moments….

Adopt an attitude of gratitude.

Being grateful is a powerful emotion. It’s also one of the key ingredients in happiness, and it can help you get through any challenge. The more you practice being grateful for what you have, the easier it will be for you to do so when challenges arise.

When I think about what I am thankful for, my mind goes blank. There are so many things that I could list, but then again, who has enough energy reserves? Instead of listing all my blessings here:

  • My family members who support me through thick and thin (even if they don’t agree with everything)
  • My friends who make me laugh or cry every day (or both!)
  • My work colleagues who give me space when I need it most; they know when not to push too hard or ask questions about something personal

Do something that comforts you, or reconnects you with a part of yourself that you love or care about.

  • Listen to music, read a book, do your hobby (like playing video games), spend time with family and friends, go outside and enjoy nature.

Focus on something bigger than yourself.

You can find inspiration if you focus on something bigger than yourself. You need to see the bigger picture and what it means for you as a person. For instance, if you are struggling with your career or relationships in general, instead of focusing on how much money you want next year or how many people will be there at your wedding, think about why those things matter so much to you—and make sure that they do!

In order for this idea of inspiration and goal setting to work properly (and actually help), remember that there can be no pressure on yourself. If something bad happens, then everything would have been wasted anyway. Therefore, let go of all expectations until things improve in some way, shape, or form.

Listen, really listen, to the people and things around you that are inspiring in some way.

The following are ways for you to find inspiration:

  • Ask for help. If you want to be more creative, try asking other people what they like or how they do things. It’s always good to get ideas from other people and learn from them as well!
  • Be open to new ideas and experiences. Try going on an adventure somewhere different than your regular stomping grounds—it could be anything from traveling by car with friends (or alone) or exploring an entirely new city! You never know where your next adventure might take place…

It is OK to ask for help.

There are many resources out there to help you get inspired. You just need to ask for them.

It is OK to ask for help. It’s even better if you can make the asking process feel more like a gift than an imposition. There are people who can help you become more inspired in so many ways: your family members, friends, teachers, and mentors at school or work; reading articles on the internet; using social media platforms like Instagram or Pinterest; going out into nature (especially if this means being outside). These are just a few examples of how we can all participate in our own personal growth by encouraging and supporting each other along the way!

So, how do you get inspired? The answer is simple: you can inspire yourself. You must find the ideal blend of things that make you feel good and then consistently apply them over time. This will become a habit and eventually lead to a healthier lifestyle where inspiration is an inherent part of your day-to-day existence.
